Dear Friends:
McKinney is one of Texas’ proudest cities embodying many famous sites and projects within its Historic District - Chestnut Square, the Old Post Office Museum, the Original Courthouse, the Old County Jail, the Heard Craig House and one of the most interesting historic sites of all - the Pecan Grove Cemetery.
The Cemetery today is in need of preservation assistance, while we are pleased to announce the launch of a major redevelopment plan including road upgrades and additional fencing, meeting hall and maintenance facilities from funds granted by the MCDC, we are still in need of an administration/maintenance facility. In the mean while, our cash on hand represents a paycheck to paycheck existence and does not nearly meet the ever-increasing cost of everyday maintenance, equipment, mowing, repairs and unpredictable acts of nature and vandalism.
By Volunteering, you or your organization can share our concern and help preserve of the grounds at Pecan Grove Cemetery. Please complete the form below and submit you interest of volunteering. The Board of Trustees greatly appreciate your support.
Pecan Grove is in need of the following:
- Funds - for everyday maintenance: Checks should be made payable to Pecan Grove Cemetery and mailed to, P.O. Box 692 McKinney, TX 75070.
- Recurring maintenance whereby your organization would be responsible for picking up trash and monument cleaning of a designated area.
Sincerely,
Harry McKillop, President
Pecan Grove Cemetery Board of Trustees
